LTM: Pressing ‘Reset’ – Days 1 to 3

July 25, 2020      brindles      Leave a Comment

Hey!

As I type this its day 3 of my reset and I actually feel really good already. I have managed to do 3 SP days on Slimming World. If you aren’t familiar with Slimming World or SP days you can read all about the plan here on the Slimming world website.

I lost all my weight originally with Slimming World and I like it because it really doesn’t feel like a traditional diet. Without sounding corny – it really is more like a lifestyle change.

In super simple terms though a Slimming World SP Day is replacing ‘Free’ foods with ‘Speed’ and ‘Protein Rich’ foods. Cutting out potatoes from my diet is (and will never be) top of my list of things to do. But this is only for 10 days and I will slowly reintroduce them or perhaps ill get a few more days in and feel like I just want some potato!

Day 1

Weigh in!

Weight –

9 stone 5lbs

Measurements –

Bust: 34.5 inches

Waist: 32.5 inches

Hips: 38 inches

Thigh: 23 inches

Arms: 11 inches

I haven’t ever measured myself. It’s something I actually really regret not doing in the beginning. When I started my first weight loss journey my jeans were a size 14 and I simply just wanted to get to a weight I was happy at and didn’t give measurements a second thought. I am pretty sure these measurements aren’t going to change much but I am interested to see!

Day One was okay. It was a pretty busy one which I think helped. Breakfast wasn’t my favourite or usual pick but it was food shop delivery day so beggars cannot me choosers. Lunch was a late soup at 3 after my hair cut but tea well and truly made up for it.

Todays food:

Breakfast – 40g cheerios with 100ml skimmed milk

Lunch – Moroccan vegetable soup (recipe can be found here)

Tea – leftover burnt aubergine chilli with salad and a little halloumi (recipe can be found here)

Day 2

I slept SO well last night – it was either a fluke or my body rewarding me with good sleep after not filling it to the brim with sourdough. Guess I won’t know until tonight!

But day 2 was home all day so I had to resist going to the fridge and picking something to eat every time I walked into the kitchen.

Breakfast – 2 Chocolate Wheat Biscs with 100ml warm skimmed milk

Lunch – Prawn salad. Probably the most boring salad I have ever made and more than likely the kind of salad people who say salad is nasty think of.

Tea – breaded cod with a mountain of salad

I also had a couple hot chocolates (2 syns each) and some watermelon.

Funny side note – you know when you teach your puppy to do something real cute. Like, when I taught both Ethel & Clinton that fruit and veg was the best treat, they could get their chops on? Yeah – I now have to share every fruit snack, salad and vegetable stick.

Day 3

Last night sleep was a fluke. I tossed and turned all night until Clinton got up at 4am begging to go out. So I was up, awake at 4am begging Clinton to go to the toilet thinking about toast.

But despite the awful sleep I actually feel okay.

I had breakfast much earlier than normal and dinner later as Aaron was late back from work, but I feel so good. I can’t remember the last time I had 3 days in a row 100% on plan!

Breakfast – 2 Chocolate Wheat Biscs with 100ml warm skimmed milk

Lunch – Greek salad with aubergine, feta, olives, lettuce, tomatoes & cucumber.

Tea – Oumph (vegan kebab), piled on top of a huge salad with a few cheeky chips!

So, its 9pm I am pretty sleepy but still need to go and walk Clinton.

Feeling positive about the next 3 days ahead!

Ill check back in with you again in a few days!

Much Love

Hannah x

This photo makes me laugh... within the minute of This photo makes me laugh... within the minute of this I had broken my ankle.... I didn't cry, for the most part there wasn't any panic and apparently when shit goes down I can calm myself down to a worrying level.
However -
1. The NHS are incredible. I don't have much experience of our NHS but my god everyone I have met was incredible.
2. Cooking is my happy place and I really miss it. I'm not a fancy cook. Throw as much veg into a pan as possible and get food to plate in the shortest amount of time possible but I've really really missed it, hence the lack of food photos ... mr m has been chef
3. My friends and family are epic. Every one thats taken a moment to text or call just to say hey or send me a meme. I really appreciate that - I think aaron would've had a mad woman on his hands without them.
4. Pain is all consuming. It clouds everything; judgement, reality, everything. I now have a whole new level understanding and sympathy for people who deal with pain on a daily basis. For a few days I was no word of a lie, incoherent. A mixture of pain, tiredness and general fed upness - my whole world just seemed all consumed by how much my leg hurt.
5. Take the f*cking painkillers. There aren't any prizes for lying awake at night wondering if you can kid yourself that the pain isn't real. If it hurts, take them, be careful with them but really take them.
6. I married one of the best ones. We aren't soppy and I don't often ever give pda's but from the second I slipped he has been nothing short of amazing. He's carried me to the car, rubbed my back while I sob because I just want to be able to to go to the toilet without it being an absolute mission, plied me with snacks and in fact made every meal, hes looked after the dogs, cleaned the house and been all round epic egg. Our closest family live 4.5 hours away and friends live an hour away. We are our own support network. We can't share the load, it is just us 2. Don't get me wrong, part of us choose to live down here and I wouldn't change it for the world but I guess these last few weeks have shown us just how strong as a couple we are, that life throws things at us and we just, smash it. 💕
I sometimes can't believe I live here... I feel so I sometimes can't believe I live here... I feel so very very lucky to call Cornwall my home. But shortly after this photograph I broke a limb. The first time I have ever broken any bone. FYI I don't recommend it. The last 3 weeks have been the longest ever - even longer than the this whole year has felt.
.
If you'd have asked me a month ago if I call myself an 'active' person i would've scoffed and said hell no but turns out I am. I fill my day full from start to finish with everything; dog walks, cleaning, cooking, working, more walking, pottering and I go to bed happy but tired.
.
But now, now my daily life is where everything takes me double the time and I'm having to ask for help ALOT. Which hasn't come naturally.
.
But that aside I really like this photo 💕

Get yourself a friend who you can talk to about th Get yourself a friend who you can talk to about the most random of things.
Today we chatted vegetables. Specifically eating 5 portions a day. I'm not a huge fruit fan - veg however - LOVE IT. I would say over half our shopping bill each week is on vegetables and by Sunday night our fridge is pretty bare... but then I looked at the website which shows you what an actual portion of each veg should be and man I need to up my game.. so this week that's exactly what I'm going to concentrate on... who is with me?

1. Put hot sauce in your coleslaw. Game changer.
2. Yes that is apple and goats cheese on my burger. Go try it. If you think its horrible I'm sorry. If you think it's the absolute donkeys baubles and wonder why you've never put that taste sensation on your burger before... you're welcome.

I love Christmas so much that I convinced my husba I love Christmas so much that I convinced my husband that the closest day we could possibly get to Christmas would be the only date to get married... also who wouldn't want soft lighting, a reason to wear long sleeves and slippers and a kebab on the way home to warm you up?
I rest my case.

The asda vegan Wellington (0 points for creativity on the name @asda )... reviewed on my stories... spoiler I don't rate it highly.
Also not worth the syns.
Also my roast potatoes weren't that great I'm not sure what happened but could have done with an extra 15 mins in the oven 😅 but a really lovely dinner nonetheless

November and December are my thing. Festive is my thing.
I got married at Christmas, I got a pup with a christmas birthday, Christmas Dinner is my favourite meal and I feel the best in winter clothes.
Also, the Christmas decorations being up have made me feel the most normal I've felt in months. You know? Sort of like - it was a completly uncovid affected activity. It felt really normal. And now they're up i feel so darn festive and we're having a sort of Christmas meal for tea - so if you're bah humbug please move along , I know it's November but you do you. I'm doing what makes me happy 😊
